Another Day, Not Enough Java
Does anyone have a nice word that we can speak describing this last embarrassment that the Whitehouse has uttered?
Understandably, we all feel alarmed and ashamed by our president when something like this is said, and the situation has been widely covered in the news. The racist memes and videos circulating from the president’s social media accounts were not to be described as creations by him personally. Instead, several sources indicate the following:
What the reporting says
A racist video depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as apes was posted from President Trump’s Truth Social account. It remained up for hours before being removed after bipartisan criticism. Yahoo
The White House initially defended the clip as an “internet meme video,” but later said a staffer had “erroneously” posted it. Yahoo
MAGA commentator Laura Loomer publicly claimed that the president does not personally post memes or photos, saying staff handle that portion of his account. Yahoo
Multiple outlets reported that the president reposted a series of memes sourced from MAGA accounts, including the racist AI‑generated video, before taking it down under pressure. The Root
Why do the staffers always get the blame?
Someone should already have excessive files of all the memes and photos that the president has posted over the past.
Has anyone fact-checked whether this meme was sourced from other MAGA accounts?
What this means:
The available evidence suggests the racist content was posted from his account, but the administration and allies attribute the act to staffers rather than the president personally. Regardless of who clicked “post,” the content itself was widely condemned as racist, including by Republican Senator Tim Scott, who called it “the most racist thing I’ve seen out of this White House.” politico.com
